NOIR

I see her sitting on a stool
Just waiting to crucify some fool
In a crowded bar
I recognise her right away
As if our last dance was yesterday
She’s the star of my film noir

Our affair was dark
As scary as it gets
Kisses in the night
Lit by cigarettes

Shadows stalked our lives
Menace marked our scene
Smiles concealing knives
Marvelous and mean

She was the heart of my heartache
A delectable, dangerous dame
I never thought she’d end up as an out take
Till she priced herself out of the game

First she stole my style
Then he took my gun
Couldn’t find my smile
After she was done

Now my souvenir
Is a chain of scars
I see her ghost in ever bar
She’s the star of my film noir
